Somewhere in New Orleans ch 2As Equius was lead out into the night, he felt a little more sober, the high feeling lifting from him like steam from asphalt in the summer. He caught up with Kanaya, finally, her movements quick and fluid.
"So... how do you know my name? I don't think I've introduced myself." Equius implored, feeling like he was speaking a little slow, regardless of his sobering sensation.
"Nepeta spoke your name when she was pulling you 'back to earth'", Kanaya giggled, not letting on that she was the one causing his trance. She took his hand and began leading him through the streets. He looked around at the lights and stars. Everything seemed to have frozen in time, nothing moving except for the crawling of the vines up the older houses. The streets, of course, were filled with moving people, but it felt as though it were in a dream. Nothing else existed except for the hand that held his. Nothing mattered except for the smile she gave him and her bright gree
